Acne is a serious and very common skin condition, one that most people experience at least some points during their adolescent years. In some cases it can also follow into adulthood and often even for the rest of their life.
Acne affects both men and women, but it is important to realize that there are several differences between the two. For instance, men are more likely than women to suffer from more severe and longer lasting forms of acne. Young women are more likely to have intermittent acne due to hormonal changes that happen because of their menstrual cycle and other hormone fluctuating times in their lives, such as during pregnancy.
Most people who suffer from occasional acne breakouts find relief from using common topical and internal medications. The most common cause of acne is a blockage in the follicles because of sebum produced by the body. This blockage allows bacteria to grow under the skin and create acne. One of the biggest and probably the only curse of teenage are the bouts of acne that appear on the youthful skin of adolescents. Acne is a prolonged skin problem that induces inflammation in the oil-producing sebaceous glands. Acne can strike on any one or all areas like the face, neck, back or chest. It can surface anytime between the age of ten to thirteen and plague a teenager for the next five to ten years.
Acne is not gender and can annoy both young men and women alike. The causes, however, may be different in both cases. Boys have a higher tendency to contract severe acne which can be long lasting. The young women on the other hand, are prone to acne caused by certain hormones which are liked to the monthly cycle of menstruation.
In both cases, however, it causes torment for the young one, whether they are nubile nymphets or the humongous hunks. It makes them conscious of the red blob on their faces and it lowers confidence in the world which lays so much stress on the physical appearance of a |
