About 70 percent of the human body is made of water. Thus, water is one of the most essential elements that humans need to live. Man can survive for days without food to eat, but with no water to drink, survival is greatly impossible.

Water offers a lot of benefits to man. It is involved in almost every process that takes place inside the human body, including digestion, circulation, absorption, and excretion.

Water, along with blood, primarily transports essential nutrients throughout the body. Water also helps flush the sodium out of the body, reducing the risk of water retention. It also promotes normal bowel movement, eliminating constipation.

Water is the most effective and inexpensive detoxifying agent for the body. It is vital for flushing the waste materials or toxins outside of the body. If water inside the body is inadequate, toxins may build up and clog the skin pores, leading to acne breakouts.

If you do not consume the right amount of water, your metabolic wastes will accumulate, which could turn toxic inside the body. Also, the kidneys need water to dissolve the waste products that it has to remove. Consequently, when kidneys fail to function accordingly because of inadequate amount of water, some wastes will be dumped in the liver.

The liver primarily metabolizes the stored fat in the body to be used as energy. However, if the liver would be required to do some work that the kidney is supposed to do; the liver can not fully metabolize fat as well.

Water also aids in maintaining good muscle tone as it prevents dehydration, allowing the muscles to contract normally. Water also props up shrinking cells and plump up the skin, leaving it supple, healthy, and clear of blemishes.

Water is indeed essential for the many functions of the human body. Without enough amount of water, the body tries to preserve water in a mechanism referred to as water retention. With this, water places pressure on the cells of the skins, causing the clogging or blocking of pores, which is a great cause of acne. Processed salt also makes water retention happen. In order to eliminate this salt, adequate amount of clean water must be supplied to the body.

What then is the right amount of water that we need to drink? The medical community recommends drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses, or approximately 2 liters of water everyday to keep a healthy and acne-free skin.

However, it is also important to note that too much water consumption can lead to a fatal condition, that is, water intoxication or hyper hydration. The ideal amount of water to drink per day would still vary according to the capacity of the kidneys, or the total health condition of the person, as well as the extent of one?s daily activities.

Drinking eight glasses of water a day is a sure fire way of cleansing your body. If your acne problem is getting out of hand, you should start filling up and see the difference.
